Summary of the novel
Thora sa asman it seems that some one is talking about the sky . People just look up to the sky and simply says Thora Sa Asman . Then they try to touch it and wanted to hold it in their fist they wanted to grab it and for this purpose they jump high and high . this desire become more powerful that they put their first step on the mountain . The mountain of desires . So they start climbing watching to the sky . They are eager to grab it and go forward . They feel steps just steps they do not know who is under their step . And with in this efforts they suppress ( Kuchal dena ) their loved ones under their feet . These lovely people wanted to tell them what is under them and they going so high that they have a chance to fell down . They wanted to help them but they do not listen and care . their loved ones get injured but Alas . ..... they do not care . they are not listening they are just going on and on.
But there are some people who just wanted to have a little star from the sky with whom they wanted to live their life and give their life a purpose . These people are rarely but they do exist they are like Ftima . Fatima is an ugly girl who has no attraction , She is a teacher but due to her face which is below average her behavior is not good even her family dislike her so decide to adopt a child and she does that with the help of her friend .after adopting the child she changed her city . There she started her job and with help of her colleague she has to change her self and she is becoming a new Ftima . With the passage of time she found two infants from the garbage . they were in really bad condition so she adopted them as well she took them to hospital and look after them and raise them up with good manners .
Another family Mansoor Ali is very rich man and has a happy family . He has started business in Pakistan and his both daughters Amber and Sibgha are married with his brother Massod Ali son Usama and Talha . Amber is bit proudy like her mother but Sibgha hs soft nature . She is innocent and practical girl .
Harron is another story . Haroon is crazy about money and wanted to earn more and more , He married to her cousin Shaista . her parents are against this marriage but she took stand and she wanted to have money as well . Her parents are religious but she some time get irritated so she married to Haroon in court and they do not tell any body about it but later a time come when she become mother Harron asked him to give this baby to orphanage . Shaista is under control of Haroon but some time she feels pain about her son . Later her marriage is declared then her family leave her . So she is now in her home where Haroon and Shista completely adopt the traditions of high society . Time passes and their children are becoming young now . Harron is a very bold and open person who has relations with other women . He is heart banker person and wanted to have it by any mean . In one party he saw Amber and like her . So he is ready to play his game now and then he made his realations with Mansoor Ali to reach Amber . He helped him in his business and after long effort he succeeded to get in their home .
Saiqa is a poor lady who was accused not to give birth of boy . Her husband kick her out from his house with all of her daughters . She has four girls but the bad eyes of people and some ugly vulturous showed her the wrong way and the heart broken and lonely lady has no other option as she has her daughters with her so she jumped in the deep swamp of sin with her daughters to survive . but when she got money her husband tried to make their relation better . Her daughters were very beautiful . Her one daughter wanted to escape from this world of sin so she married with a boy but after marriage he had doubt of her character . So one day he killed her .
Rakhshi is Saiqa s daughter . Amber and Rakhsi are in same collage . Amber is impressed by her beauty so she make friendship with her . But when she come to knoe about the death of her sister she wanted to help her . so she meet her father with Rakshi who become impressed with her beauty and he offered her his Secretary and gave her a house as well . So he tried to spend more time with Rakshi . and ignore his family . Harron convince him to married with Rakhshi as she has a chance to get married to another guy. so he married with her but latter when his wife come to know about this marriage she protest against this . but later Mansoor asked her to leave his house as the result of this protest . She leave that house with her children . It is time for Haroon to take her with him . They are now living in a small area whera Fatima and her family is living . Later Sibgha ask her husband to help them but his parents forbad them to help so she ask for divorce . Which they both sisters get easily . This is very hart Time for this family .
Raskhsi is taking revenge from Mansoor and black mail him there he is helpless .
Sahista come to know about her lost son who is in FAtima house and when he come to know he become upset . Shaista ask him to come to his home which he accept but Fatima become speechless . when he come to his home he has to face strange behavior from Harron . The hard time has started in all families who were happy . every one is in pain . Shaista is having problem from her both children . the mountain is giving them a hard time . It very hard to breath up on the mountain . They almost got every thing they wanted but now it is giving them pain . What hey have done ? this height is making them tired . they can not stand up . now they have nothing . Nothing in their hands .
Umera Ahmad has shown us the result of that Thora sa Asman . What they wanted to have they got but what they are achieving is more painful . No one is behind them who stop them or console them as they left them long time ago .
